Cargo Van Rental: Important Decisions to Make when Relocating with Cats

Cats make great pets. Cats are known for their independence, but they still require a lot of love. I have four cats of my own. Each cat has its own way of doing things. Cats need a good stable place to call home. When moving with cats there are a lot of things you will need to consider. Do they get carsick? What is the number of cats you have? When was the last time they were at the vet? How long of a trip will it be? If you are moving these are questions that need answered.

If your cat does not do well with riding in a car you may want to take a plane with it instead. Flying is dangerous in the summer because of the heat. By taking your cat on short car trips, you may be able to get it used to the motion of a vehicle. This can help calm the cat when in a car. More than likely you will probably be transporting your cats yourself.

Ask the company what sized moving trucks you will need. How much stuff so you need to move? If there is enough room in the back of the truck you should set up a secure area to where you can place the cat(s) in their caboodles. By putting the cats by the door, all you will have to do is open the truck when you stop. This will also reduce your stress of constant meowing coming from your cats. You should plan it in your trip to stop a few times more than necessary to keep checking on your cat(s).

You may want to consider cargo van rental if you don’t like the idea of putting your cats in a moving truck. You will have space to put your belongings as well as making sure your cats are alright. Being able to see and hear you may help the cats to remain calm. You will want your cats used to being on a leash. You want to put the leash on them in the van before taking them out. This will allow your cat to stretch and get some exercise.

Moving can cost quite a bit. You will need to know the mortgage rates of the area you will be moving to. Don’t risk the safety and health of your cat on top of that. Health insurance for your cat may be a good idea. This way if your cat does get sick along the way, you will be able to save some money with animal insurance.
