The Martingale Online Roulette Strategy
Martingale is one of the oldest bad betting systems known to man. The thing about the Martingale that is most confusing is that even though any research at all will show that the system is faulty, many players still use and swear by the system. The Martingale revolves around continuously expanding your bet. When using the Martingale the player will make a bet, and if the bet loses, the player will then place a bigger bet, one that is twice the size of the previous bet.
If a bet loses and then the player makes a bet double the size, and they continuously do this with every losing bet the idea is that when they finally win they will recoup all past losses and win the original stake. In reality however this doesn’t typically happen. Using the Martingale however is more likely to make you lose all of your bankroll before you make any real progress. There are several problems with the Martingale.
One big problem with the Martingale is that it cannot feasibly work in any casino or online roulette table that imposes a betting limit. If there is a table limit and you bet that limit and then lose you are unable to make a bet twice the size, which means you cannot even in theory make up any losses. Also the table odds remains against you, this means that the Martingale does nothing to make it more likely that you will win, and every bet you make no matter what size is still just as likely to lose. Many players have wrongly place beliefs about how online roulette works, one of the reason Martingale is so popular is that the Martingale betting system makes perfect sense if a player has a specific wrong belief about how online roulette works. The wrong belief that many players have is that they believe that previous spins or outcomes will affect future spins or spins or outcomes. An example of this would be, if a ball lands on red eight times in a row, it is not more likely to land on black the next time, although many players think that it is bound to land on black sooner than later.
